What's the difference between a drip campaign and a journey?
Drip campaigns and journeys differ in adaptability and complexity:
Drip campaigns:
Linear sequence of emails. Time-based spacing (Day 1, Day 3, Day 7). Same path for all recipients. Simple to build and maintain. Best for straightforward onboarding or education.
Journey automations:
Branching, adaptive sequences. Behavior-based progression. Different paths for different actions. More complex to build and maintain. Best for sophisticated personalization.
When to use each:
Drips work well when the path is consistent regardless of behavior. Journeys work better when you want to respond differently based on what customers do.
Drips march forward on a clock. Journeys navigate based on the terrain. Choose based on how much adaptation your use case requires.
