What is a DMARC aggregate report?

Each report covers a time period (usually 24 hours) and lists every IP address that sent email using your domain, along with whether those messages passed or failed SPF, DKIM, and DMARC. These reports help you identify legitimate senders, misconfigured services, and potential spoofing attempts.

How do I get DMARC XML files to upload?

DMARC XML files arrive as email attachments to the address in your DMARC record's rua= tag. They are usually compressed as .zip or .gz files. Check the inbox of your reporting address, download the attachments, and upload them directly to this tool. You do not need to unzip them first. If you are not receiving reports, verify that your DMARC record includes a valid rua= tag pointing to an active email address.

What does 'DMARC Capable' vs 'Needs Attention' mean in the results?

DMARC Capable means the sending source passed both SPF or DKIM authentication and DMARC alignment. These are properly configured senders. Needs Attention means the source passed authentication partially but failed alignment, or had mixed results across messages. These are usually legitimate services that need their SPF or DKIM settings corrected. Threat/Unknown sources failed authentication entirely and may be unauthorized senders or spoofing attempts.

Can I upload multiple DMARC reports at once?

This is useful when you want to review a week or month of reports together. Uploading more reports gives you a more complete picture of who is sending email as your domain.

Does this tool store my DMARC report data?

No. All parsing and analysis happens entirely in your browser. Your DMARC XML files are never uploaded to our servers. The tool reads the files locally using JavaScript, extracts the relevant data, and displays the results on screen. We do collect anonymized source IP data (with no connection to your domain) to build a known-senders library that helps identify common email services.
