Cookie Policy
Cookies are small text files a site stores on your device. This page explains the ones we use, what each one does, how long it lives, and how to turn off the optional ones. If something is missing, write to privacy@reviewmyemails.com and we will fix it.
1. Consent up front
We ask every visitor, everywhere, before setting an Analytics cookie — not only visitors in a particular region. A consent prompt is shown until you make a choice; nothing analytics-related loads before that. Strictly Necessary cookies are set regardless, because the site can't remember your choice without one.
You can change your mind at any time using the "Cookie preferences" link at the bottom-left of any page, or by clearing cookies for this site in your browser. Changing your choice does not affect anything already measured under your previous choice.
2. Categories we use
Four categories. The first is required; the rest are not — and two of the three optional categories are currently empty.
2.1 Strictly Necessary
Required for the site to work. You cannot disable this and still have your cookie choice remembered.
| Name | Purpose | Duration | Set by |
|---|---|---|---|
| rme_cookie_consent | Remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics cookies, so we don't ask on every page. | 12 months | First-party |
2.2 Analytics
Help us understand how people use the site so we can fix confusing parts. We only set these if you accept.
| Name | Purpose | Duration | Set by |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics 4. Traffic and engagement measurement (pages per session, returning-visitor counts). Loads only after you accept below; ad-related storage stays denied either way. | 2 years (Google's default) | Third-party (Google) |
2.3 Functional
We do not currently set any functional cookies (things like remembering a language or layout preference). If we add one, we will list it here by name before it ships.
2.4 Marketing and advertising
We do not currently set marketing or advertising cookies. No Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok, or X pixel runs on the site. If we add any in the future, we will update this page, list them by name in a table like the one above, and collect a fresh round of consent before placing them.
3. Your controls
- Consent prompt: shown until you accept or decline. Once you've chosen, a "Cookie preferences" link stays pinned at the bottom-left of every page so you can reopen it and change your answer any time.
- Browser settings: every major browser lets you delete cookies and block new ones. The exact menu varies by browser; search for "manage cookies" in your browser's help.
- Automatic browser signals: we do not currently detect or act on an automatic opt-out signal from your browser (for example, Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track). Using the Cookie preferences link above is the reliable way to set your choice.
4. Third-party data flows
When you accept Analytics cookies, the third party named above receives page-view and interaction data. The full list of every company that processes data on our behalf is in the sub-processor table of the Privacy Policy. The cookie-setting party listed here is a subset of that table.
5. Questions and complaints
Cookies and any other data-protection question: privacy@reviewmyemails.com. If you are unhappy with our response, you can complain to your local data protection authority. In the EU they are listed at edpb.europa.eu.
