What is Return Path Certification?
Return Path Certification (now Validity Certification) provides sender reputation verification to participating MBPs. Certified senders meeting strict standards receive preferential treatment: bypassing some filtering and having images displayed by default.
Requirements include: strong Sender Score, low complaint rates, proper authentication, clean list practices, and ongoing compliance monitoring. Validity audits certified senders regularly, decertifying those falling below standards.
Benefits at participating MBPs may include: inbox placement advantages, image unblocking, and link activation. Not all MBPs participate, and benefits vary. Certification costs require sufficient volume to justify investment through improved delivery rates.
