Can I rely on cleaning tools alone?
Myth: False. Email validation tools help but do not solve all list quality issues. They catch invalid syntax, non existent domains, and known problematic addresses, but miss many problems.
Validation cannot detect spam traps disguised as valid addresses. It cannot assess consent quality, engagement likelihood, or complaint risk. A syntactically valid address may still be problematic.
Use validation as one tool among many: proper acquisition, confirmed opt in, engagement monitoring, and sunset policies. Validation helps but does not substitute for comprehensive list management.
