What are common spam types (commercial, scams, affiliate)?

Commercial spam promotes products or services without recipient consent. Categories include: pharmaceutical (pills, supplements), financial (loans, credit), and retail (watches, electronics). Annoying but not necessarily fraudulent.

Scam spam attempts fraud: advance fee schemes (Nigerian prince), lottery scams, romance scams, and work-from-home fraud. These cause direct financial harm to victims.

Affiliate spam promotes legitimate products through unauthorized channels. Spammers earn commissions by driving traffic. The products may be real but the marketing violates consent and often the affiliate program's terms.
