How often should I conduct a deliverability audit?
Audit frequency recommendations:
Full comprehensive audit: Annually at minimum. Complete review of all systems and practices.
Light quarterly review: Check key metrics, authentication validity, reputation status. Quick health check.
Triggered audits: Immediately when placement problems arise, after ESP migration, after major list changes, after infrastructure modifications.
Continuous monitoring: Not a replacement for audits, but catches issues between formal reviews.
More frequent audits for high-volume or high-stakes senders. Less frequent acceptable for lower risk programs.
Annual inspections with quarterly check-ins. Emergency reviews when trouble appears.
