Can you optimize for Primary tab placement?
Some practices may increase Primary tab likelihood:
Conversational tone: Personal language, questions, engagement prompts.
Minimal formatting: Less HTML complexity, fewer images, simpler structure.
Reply relationships: Users who reply to you are more likely to see you in Primary.
Contact list inclusion: Users who add you to contacts often see Primary placement.
These are tendencies, not guarantees. Gmail's classification adapts continuously.
Consider whether Primary is even your goal. Promotions tab works well for commercial senders whose users expect to find deals there.
Sail like a personal vessel, not a merchant ship, and the port may classify you accordingly. But classifications are not promises.
