What is the role of sender reputation in placement?

Sender reputation acts as your pre-established credibility score with mailbox providers. It is built over time through consistent sending behavior.

Reputation exists at multiple levels:

IP reputation: The sending IP's historical behavior.

Domain reputation: Your sending domain's track record.

Good reputation creates a presumption of legitimacy. Messages from trusted senders receive less scrutiny and better placement.

Poor reputation triggers heightened inspection. Even clean content may land in spam if reputation is damaged.

A captain with a spotless record sails into port welcomed. One with a history of contraband faces inspection at every dock.
