What are the limitations of seedlist testing?
Seedlist testing has important limitations:
Unrepresentative accounts: Seeds lack real engagement history. Their placement may not reflect what engaged or disengaged users see.
Provider detection: Mailbox providers may identify test patterns and treat seeds differently.
Small sample size: A few seeds per provider cannot capture statistical variation.
No user-level reputation: Seeds cannot replicate the unique relationship each real recipient has with your sending.
Seedlist results are directional, not absolute. Use them as one signal among many.
Your scout vessels get different treatment than your trade fleet. Their reports are useful but not the complete story.
