Why should “From” addresses match brand identity?

From addresses should match brand identity because recipients use them to recognize and trust messages. When users see a familiar brand name in the From field, they know who sent the message and can make informed decisions about engagement.

Mismatched From addresses confuse recipients and trigger spam complaints. If someone subscribed to Brand A but receives messages appearing to come from Brand B, they may not recognize the connection and report the message as spam.

Brand consistency also supports authentication alignment. When your From domain matches your authentication domains, DMARC passes cleanly. Mismatches between visible identity and authenticated identity create technical issues and trust problems.
