What is typo or malformed address capture?

Typo capture occurs when a subscriber mistypes their address during signup such as gmal.com instead of Gmail.com. Domains like gmal.com are known as typo squatting domains because they exist specifically to catch spelling mistakes. Malformed addresses such as captain@tidalmail (missing the dot com) are caught through syntax validation which relies on RFC 5322 structure rules.
