What actions count as positive signals?

Mailbox providers track multiple positive engagement signals that indicate recipients value your messages:

Opens (though less reliable since Apple MPP). Clicks on links within the message. Replies to your email, which strongly signal value. Forwards to other recipients. Moving from spam to inbox, which directly tells the provider they made a mistake.

Adding to contacts signals ongoing relationship. Starring or flagging messages for later. Extended reading time where the message stays open rather than being quickly deleted.

Positive signals are like the port merchants inviting your ship back. Each welcome gesture tells the harbor master that your cargo is valued and your next arrival should be expedited.
