How does reputation differ across Gmail, Yahoo, Microsoft, etc.?

Each mailbox provider calculates reputation independently using their own algorithms, signal weights, and threshold tolerances. Good standing at Gmail does not automatically translate to good standing at Outlook or Yahoo.

Gmail heavily weights domain reputation and engagement signals. Microsoft still gives significant weight to IP reputation and uses SmartScreen filtering. Yahoo emphasizes complaint rates through their Complaint Feedback Loop.

The signals that matter most vary too. Gmail cares deeply about whether recipients engage or ignore messages. Microsoft focuses on whether your IP appears on their internal lists. Yahoo watches spam button clicks closely.

Navigating reputation across providers is like holding separate passports for different countries. Each nation has its own entry requirements, and approval at one border says nothing about the next.
