Do low complaint rates guarantee inboxing?

Low complaint rates are necessary but not sufficient for inbox placement:

Complaints are one signal among many. Providers also consider engagement patterns, authentication, content analysis, sending patterns, and list quality.

Silent filtering can occur without complaints. Recipients who ignore your mail without complaining still generate negative signals through non-engagement.

Spam suppression may artificially lower complaint rates. If your mail goes to spam, recipients cannot easily complain about mail they never see.

Other disqualifiers like failed authentication, spamtrap hits, or blocklist appearances can tank deliverability regardless of complaint rates.

Low complaints are a minimum requirement, not a guarantee. You must also pass every other test providers apply.

Low complaints are like passing one inspection checkpoint. You still face customs, cargo inspection, and harbor clearance before your goods reach the warehouse.
