What is a Sender Score?
Sender Score is a reputation metric from Validity (formerly Return Path) that rates IP addresses on a scale of 0 to 100. Higher scores indicate better reputation based on observed sending behavior.
The score aggregates data from Validity's network of email providers and filtering partners. It considers complaint rates, unknown user rates, spamtrap hits, and other deliverability signals.
Sender Score is one input among many that filtering systems use. A high score helps but does not guarantee inbox placement. A low score triggers extra scrutiny but does not automatically mean your mail will be blocked.
Sender Score is like a credit rating for your IP address. It gives other systems a quick reference for your trustworthiness, though each lender ultimately makes their own decision.
