Beyond Engagement Metrics — High engagement helps, but authentication & reputation matter more for inbox placement. Check Your Score →

Does having high engagement guarantee inboxing?

High engagement significantly improves inbox chances but does not guarantee placement. Other factors can override engagement signals.

Authentication failures can cause filtering regardless of engagement. If SPF, DKIM, or DMARC fail, the message may be filtered before engagement is ever considered.

Blocklist appearances can block delivery entirely. Being on Spamhaus may prevent delivery regardless of how much recipients want your mail.

Content issues like malware or phishing patterns trigger security filtering that overrides engagement signals.

Provider outages or policy changes can temporarily affect delivery regardless of sender behavior.

Engagement is powerful but not omnipotent. The best approach combines strong engagement with proper authentication, clean infrastructure, and good content.

High engagement opens the door but does not hold it open. Other elements must also be in order.
