Does volume alone cause spam filtering?

Volume alone does not cause spam filtering. Large legitimate senders successfully deliver billions of messages. What matters is whether volume is accompanied by trust indicators.

High volume is problematic when: it comes from unknown senders without reputation, it is not supported by proper authentication, it generates complaints or bounces, or it appears suddenly without warming.

High volume is acceptable when: it comes from established senders with good reputation, it is properly authenticated, it generates positive engagement, and it maintains consistent patterns.

Filters are designed to handle legitimate bulk mail. Gmail, Mailchimp, and major senders process enormous volumes daily without filtering problems.

The key is earning the right to send at volume through consistent good behavior over time.

Volume is not the sin; irresponsible volume is. Earn trust first, then scale with that trust intact.
