What is Suomispam?
Still have a question, spotted an error, or have a better explanation or a source we should cite?
bl.suomispam.net checks IPs and dbl.suomispam.net checks domains.
What the operator says
"likely senders of spam in Finnish language or related to Finland" Suomispam, read 31 Oct and 1 Nov 2026.
What it really measures
Finnish spam that bigger lists tend to miss. A listing is one of four things: a spam source, a site advertised in spam, a wider listing of a network, or a network that looks suspicious.
Why you might be there
By the operator's rules, mail in Finnish or about Finland went to people who did not ask for it. Or your provider's wider network is listed.
What to think about
- The operator says SPF and DMARC have nothing to do with it, and that hacked servers are almost never the reason.
- Some lookup sites confuse a shared host with your domain, so use Suomispam's own check first.
- We class the IP list as low-impact.
How to get off it
Email suomispam@suomispam.net, name the exact listing and say what cleared the problem. It delists when it can see the reason has gone. You cannot ask for a permanent exemption. A wildcard listing (with a *) means your hosting provider must get involved. Regular reviews can take several months.
What "low-impact" means on these pages: the big mailbox providers rarely use the list, so it rarely affects delivery at Gmail, Outlook or Yahoo. It can still point at something worth fixing.
Want a hand getting this delisted? Here is how to write to a list's operator, or ask a person on our free SOS Hotline. Tell us the list and the IP or domain, and we reply within 48 to 72 hours.
A separate job: cleaning your list does not remove a listing. If you also want to know who on your list is safe to send to, clean your first 1,000 free.
