How to identify DNS caching delays?

Identifying DNS cache issues:

Symptoms:

Changes not visible everywhere

Different results from different locations

Control panel shows new value, external tools show old

Diagnosis:

Query authoritative directly:

dig @ns1.yourprovider.com TXT yourdomain.com

Shows current true value.

Query recursive resolvers:

dig @8.8.8.8 TXT yourdomain.com

Shows cached value.

Compare: If different, caching is the cause.

Resolution: Wait for TTL to expire. The old TTL determines how long caches persist.

Cached copies may be outdated. Check the source registry directly for current values.
