What happens if I exceed DNS limits?

Consequences of exceeding limits:

SPF lookup limit exceeded:

Result: permerror

DMARC treats as SPF fail

Receivers may reject or spam mail

All mail from domain affected

TXT record too long:

Provider may truncate (silently breaking the record)

Provider may reject the record entirely

Partial data causes parsing errors

UDP response overflow:

Response falls back to TCP

Some poorly configured resolvers fail

Slightly slower lookups

Monitor SPF lookup count whenever adding sending services. Test authentication after any DNS changes.

Overloaded paperwork causes processing failure. The entire verification cannot complete.
