How do CNAMEs relate to link tracking?
How it works:
- You create: click.tidalmail.com CNAME tracking.esp.com
- Links in your emails use click.tidalmail.com
- Recipients click and connect to tracking.esp.com (via CNAME resolution)
- ESP logs the click and redirects to the actual destination
Benefits:
- Links show your domain, building trust
- Domain reputation for links stays with you
- Avoids shared tracking domain reputation issues
Requirements: SSL certificate for your tracking domain (usually handled by ESP).
Your branded dock sign, but the dock is actually operated by your shipping partner.
