What happens if your CNAME isn’t verified?

Unverified CNAME problems:

Tracking failure: ESP cannot track clicks or opens through your domain.

Fallback behavior: ESP uses their shared tracking domain instead. Reputation suffers.

SSL errors: Without proper certificate provisioning, https links fail. Browsers show security warnings.

Broken links: If CNAME points nowhere or wrong place, links do not work at all.

Image loading: Open tracking pixels and images may not display.

Verify CNAME setup before sending. Test links and images in preview mode.

Unregistered alias causes delivery to fail or default to generic handling.
