How do I set up a PTR record for my sending IP?

PTR setup process:

1. Identify your sending IP: Check your email headers or ESP configuration.

2. Determine who controls it: Your hosting provider, cloud provider, or ISP owns the IP allocation.

3. Request PTR configuration:

Hosting providers often have control panels for PTR.

Cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure) have specific processes.

ISPs may require support tickets.

4. Specify the hostname: Should match your mail server name (mail.tidalmail.com).

5. Create matching A record: mail.tidalmail.com should resolve to that IP.

6. Verify: dig -x YOUR_IP should return your hostname.

Register your ship name with the hull registry (IP owner), then register the hull with your name registry (DNS).
