Why does canonicalization matter (simple vs relaxed)?
- Canonicalization tells DKIM how to treat small formatting changes. There are two modes:
- simple
- relaxed
- Simple breaks signatures easily. Relaxed tolerates small changes such as extra spaces or line wrapping.
- Relaxed is recommended because some mail systems reformat messages during transit.
