What is SPF alignment (strict vs. relaxed)?

SPF alignment checks whether the domain in the Return Path matches the domain in the visible From header.

Strict requires an exact match.

Relaxed allows the same organizational domain.

This mode is set using the aspf tag in the DMARC record such as aspf=r which is the default.
