What is DKIM alignment (strict vs. relaxed)?

DKIM alignment checks whether the d= domain inside the DKIM signature matches the visible From domain.

Strict requires exact matching.

Relaxed allows the same organizational domain.

This mode is set using the adkim tag in the DMARC record such as adkim=r which is the default.
