What are toxicity scores?

Toxicity scores estimate risk associated with email addresses beyond simple valid/invalid. They aggregate signals indicating potential **spam traps**, complaint likelihood, or association with problematic sending. Higher toxicity suggests higher risk.

Score components may include: **domain reputation**, address age patterns, association with known complaint sources, similarity to **spam trap** patterns, and historical behavior from shared databases.

Use toxicity scores for: prioritizing suppression decisions, segmenting risky addresses for careful treatment, and evaluating new list quality. Scores provide graduated risk assessment rather than binary keep/remove decisions.
