What is the email body?

The body is the part people actually read. It can be text/plain. It can be text/html. Or it can be sent as multipart/alternative so that one version is plain text and one version is HTML.

Think of the body as the message parchment that was rolled up and sealed. The headers tell you what it is and where it came from. The body is the cargo.
