What is a dedicated IP?

A dedicated IP is an IP address reserved entirely for one sender. The sender controls all reputation earned on that IP. It is your private pier where only your vessels dock and depart.

A sender usually needs consistent monthly volume, often at least one hundred thousand messages, to keep a dedicated IP’s reputation healthy. Dedicated IPs are also required for certain certification and allow lists such as the Certified Senders Alliance or the Validity program which can grant preferred inbox routes at participating providers.
