IP warmup is the gradual increase in message volume sent from a new IP address in order to build trust with major mailbox providers. Providers such as Gmail.com begin by allowing only small volumes to confirm low complaint rates, proper engagement, and strong authentication. It is a new vessel proving its seaworthiness before being granted open sea privileges.
