What is an email bounce loop?

An email bounce loop occurs when two or more mail servers repeatedly send bounce messages to each other. It typically happens when an automated response or error message triggers another automated reply in return.

It is like two ships endlessly sending "return to sender" crates back and forth because neither realizes the other port cannot accept the delivery.
