Why is email resilient compared to social DMs?
Email is resilient because it is built on open protocols (SMTP, IMAP, POP3) that work across providers and infrastructure. It does not depend on one company, platform, or centralized server.
Even if a single service goes offline, others continue to operate, and messages in transit are held until delivery is possible.
It is like a global ocean trade network, if one port closes, the ships simply reroute through another.
