Is it legal to email anyone once?
Not Under All Laws. CAN-SPAM allows one unsolicited email if it includes unsubscribe. GDPR does not allow that first email without prior consent. CASL requires consent before any commercial email.
The answer depends on jurisdiction and email type. Know what regulations apply to your recipients. "Once is legal" is not universally true.
Even where technically legal, unsolicited single emails generate complaints and poor results. Permission based approaches are better even when not strictly required.
