Myth: Mostly False. Unsubscribes themselves do not directly hurt sender reputation. They are controlled exits that providers prefer over complaints.
High unsubscribe rates may indicate content or targeting problems worth addressing. But the unsubscribe action itself is neutral to slightly positive (better than complaint).
Make unsubscribing easy. Convert potential complainers into clean unsubscribes. The unsubscribe is not hurting you; it is preventing worse outcomes.
