Does resending to unopens help inbox placement?

Myth: Resending to people who did not open is a free way to boost results.

Reality: Resending to non-openers often backfires.

Non-openers may have received your mail in spam (resending will not help). They may have deliberately ignored it. Repeated sends to unresponsive addresses generate more negative engagement signals.

Some non-openers are non-openers because of privacy tools, not disinterest. But you cannot distinguish them.

Resending occasionally to engaged-but-missed users can work. Routine resending to all non-openers often hurts.

Knocking repeatedly on doors that stay closed does not improve your neighborhood reputation.
