What’s the difference between feedback loop data and Postmaster Tools data?

Feedback Loop data provides individual complaint notifications that identify specific recipients who marked mail as spam. This enables automated suppression of complainers.

Postmaster Tools data provides aggregate metrics without individual identification. You see overall spam rates, reputation scores, authentication rates, and delivery errors, but you cannot identify specific complainers.

FBL data enables tactical response: suppress this person. Postmaster data enables strategic analysis: understand your overall health and trends.

Gmail only offers Postmaster Tools, not traditional FBLs. Microsoft and Yahoo offer both individual FBL notifications and aggregate postmaster dashboards.

FBLs give you the names of unhappy customers. Postmaster Tools give you the customer satisfaction survey results. Both inform improvement, but at different levels of detail.
