What information do FBL reports contain?
FBL reports follow the ARF (Abuse Reporting Format) standard defined in RFC 5965. They typically include:
The complainant's email address (sometimes hashed or anonymized for privacy). The original message headers showing authentication results, timestamps, and routing. The complaint timestamp indicating when the spam button was clicked.
Some FBLs include the message body, allowing you to identify which specific campaign generated the complaint. Others strip the body for privacy.
The report identifies the feedback type, typically "abuse" for spam complaints.
FBL reports are detailed complaint forms that include evidence. They tell you who complained, what message triggered it, and when it happened, giving you everything needed to investigate and respond.
