What are “hidden” DNS editors and record propagation delays?

DNS interface layers can cause confusion:

Hidden editors: Control panel → DNS management interface → actual nameservers. Multiple layers between you and records.

Sync delays: Control panel shows change immediately. Actual DNS update happens later (seconds to minutes).

Caching within provider: Provider's infrastructure may cache internally before publishing.

Testing pitfalls:

Control panel shows new record

Direct nameserver query shows old record

External tools show old record

Record not actually published yet

Best practice: Always verify with external tools (dig, MXToolbox) against authoritative servers, not just the control panel display.

Your filing shown as received by the clerk does not mean it has reached the official registry yet.
