How does DNS relate to email?

Email depends on DNS at every stage of delivery:

Mail routing: MX records tell sending servers where to deliver mail for your domain.

Authentication: SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records prove you authorized the sending server and verify message integrity.

IP mapping: A and AAAA records connect domain names to server IP addresses.

Reverse verification: PTR records confirm that an IP address legitimately belongs to a claimed hostname.

If your DNS records are wrong, mail cannot be delivered, or cannot be properly authenticated. DNS is the foundation of email infrastructure.

Every piece of cargo (email) needs accurate port manifests (DNS records) to reach its destination.
