How does DMARC work with SPF and DKIM?
DMARC checks whether SPF passed and is aligned and whether DKIM passed and is aligned. It only needs one of the two methods to both pass and align with the visible From domain. If either method meets this requirement DMARC passes. If neither method aligns DMARC applies the domain’s policy such as none or quarantine or reject.
It is the coordination system that unites SPF and DKIM into a single verdict.
