What are DKIM selectors used for?

DKIM selectors tell receiving servers where to find the correct public key in DNS. The selector appears in the s= tag inside the DKIM signature and points to a TXT record at:

selector.\_domainkey.yourdomain.com

Selectors make it possible to use multiple DKIM keys at the same time and rotate them without downtime.
