What is a data-based trigger?
A data-based trigger fires email automation when customer data changes or matches specific conditions:
Field value changes: Customer updates their preferences, location, or profile information.
Threshold reached: Customer reaches a spending level, point balance, or usage milestone.
Segment entry or exit: Customer moves into or out of a defined segment based on updated data.
Date field matching: Data fields match current date (birthday, anniversary, renewal date).
Calculated field triggers: Derived values like customer lifetime value or engagement score cross thresholds.
Data-based triggers enable communication based on who the customer is rather than just what they do.
Data triggers recognize changes in customer status. They respond to evolving relationships, not just momentary actions.
