How to write for accessibility (readers, color contrast)?

Accessible email copy ensures everyone can consume your message, including people using screen readers, those with visual impairments, or anyone in suboptimal reading conditions (bright sunlight, small screens).

Copy accessibility basics: Alt text for all images (describe function, not just content). Descriptive link text (\"Read the full report\" not \"Click here\"). Logical reading order (structure that makes sense read linearly). Sufficient color contrast (WCAG AA minimum). Don't rely on color alone to convey meaning. Plain language where possible.

Accessibility is good writing. The same principles that help screen reader users-clear structure, descriptive links, logical flow-help everyone. Accessible emails also tend to perform better because they're clearer and more usable. It's not accommodation; it's professionalism. Test with accessibility tools and, if possible, with actual users who rely on assistive technology.
