How can I use personalization effectively in email content?

Effective personalization goes beyond names. It umeans relevant content based on what you know about recipients. The goal is emails that feel tailored, not generic, while respecting privacy and avoiding creepiness.

Personalization strategies: First name-use sparingly (once in greeting is enough). Behavioral triggers-"Since you browsed running shoes..." Purchase history-recommendations based on past orders. Preference data-content categories they've selected. Lifecycle stage-new customer vs. loyal advocate messaging. Location-based-local events, stores, weather-relevant offers.

Personalization should feel helpful, not stalkerish. "We noticed you spent 47 minutes browsing" feels invasive. "Based on your interests in outdoor gear" feels considerate. Use data to serve recipients better, not to show off how much you know. When in doubt, less specific personalization is safer than more.
