What is the “BCC” field?

The BCC field privately lists recipients whose addresses must stay hidden. The sending MTA issues RCPT TO commands for every BCC address. Then it removes the BCC header before the message is delivered to anyone.

That is why no one can see the BCC list. It is gone before the message leaves port.

It is the quiet observer leaning on the rail. Present. Invisible.
