What is the “MIME-Version” header?

MIME-Version tells receiving systems which version of MIME rules the message follows. It’s usually `1.0`, and it indicates that the email can contain multiple parts, such as text, HTML, images, or attachments.

Without this declaration, the receiving system might treat the message as plain text cargo rather than a modern vessel carrying structured containers.

Interesting fact: The version number has always been 1.0 since 1992 and has never changed. It now serves as a simple flag to indicate that the message follows MIME standards.
