What is quoted-printable encoding?

Quoted printable encoding is designed for mostly readable text with occasional special characters. It transforms those characters into an equal sign followed by hexadecimal values.

It avoids full base64 encoding when not necessary. Behind the scenes, it keeps the deck tidy while preserving readability.
