What is DKIM-Signature header (mention, to link to later section)?

The DKIM Signature header is part of DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM), a method for verifying an email's sender and integrity. It contains a digital signature that covers both the message body and specific headers, such as From and Subject.

The receiving server verifies this signature by retrieving the sender's public key from their DNS records, ensuring that the signature matches and that the content has not been altered in transit.

It is like a wax seal on a captain's letter. The receiving port checks the seal against the sender's official design registered in maritime records (DNS) to confirm it is authentic and unopened.
