Is Gmail Postmaster reputation everything?
Postmaster Tools provides valuable but incomplete information. It shows domain and IP reputation for Gmail specifically, but doesn't cover other mailbox providers, doesn't explain why reputation changed, and doesn't show all the signals affecting your placement.
What Postmaster shows: reputation category (high, medium, low, bad), spam rate, authentication success, encryption status, and delivery errors. This is directional guidance, not complete diagnostic information.
What's missing: specific recipient complaints, engagement quality by segment, reputation at Microsoft/Yahoo/others, and detailed filter triggers. Supplement Postmaster with engagement analytics, complaint monitoring, seed testing, and cross-provider reputation services for comprehensive visibility.
